The studio said it would be targeting a summer launch for Android, but did not give a specific date or what devices the game would be compatible with. Players with Apple’s iOS devices have been already been enjoying mobile Fortnite since early April, though it is only compatible with the iPhone 6S and newer phones.

The blog post also detailed many quality of life and performance updates the team is currently working on for the mobile version. One feature that already went live on the iOS version this week is the option to customize the game’s HUD. Players can move the virtual buttons wherever they like over a grid and supports both combat and build control modes.

Voice chat is also coming, and will work with players who are playing Fortnite on other platforms. According to Epic, it will be as simple as tapping a dedicated button to control who players would like to hear.

“We’re also looking to make it really easy to mute yourself, other players, or open up all communications with a simple tap,” Epic Games said in the post. “There will be a button on the screen that lets you mute yourself, mute everyone in your party, or go back to open-microphone.”

Other upcoming features and fixes in the announcement include gameplay improvements, a smaller installation size, a “Battery-Saver mode,” and stat tracking. No release date has been announced for voice chat or the list of features.
