Call of Duty: WWII’s Headquarters Social Hub Area Can Potentially Get Attacked by Enemy Troops

Defend the fort!

Developer Sledgehammer Games is planning to introduce dynamic events in Call of Duty: WWII’s 48-person social space dubbed Headquarters, a first for the long-running FPS series. Game Informer (via Reddit) reports that Headquarters will have dynamic events such as enemy aircrafts invading, which necessitates players to unite and use anti-air guns to protect their base.

This kind of dynamic event feels similar to the one found in Q-Games and SIE Japan Studio’s bizarre PS4 exclusive The Tomorrow Children, where each hub area gets invaded by large monsters and players must use canons to defeat it. Slain monsters in The Tomorrow Children grant plenty of loot, and hopefully the same applies to Call of Duty: WWII whenever players successfully defend their base.

Aside from defending the fort, another known social multiplayer feature is the shooting range. Here, players shoot at objects “designated to splatter,” such as a watermelon. Participating in more social features will increase one’s chances of acquiring supply drops and cosmetic loot.

Aside from serving as a hub between multiplayer matches, Call of Duty: WWII Headquarters essentially aims to create a lively social community where players can show their cool gear and prestige. Headquarters also allows players to open their supply drops for everyone to see, and those who watch the unboxing will get a chance to score prizes.

With Sledgehammer Games’s bid to make Headquarters feel fresh and exciting throughout, the developers could possibly introduce seasonal events.

At present, publisher Activision has yet to publicly showcase the Headquarters mode. More videos and information about Call of Duty: WWII will be available as we inch closer to its November 3 release date. Activision’s latest World War II shooter will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
