The Command & Conquer Remastered Collection released today for PC alongside a new trailer celebrating the launch. This trailer serves a fine purpose of informing players of changes and new features of the two remastered games.
The Command & Conquer Remastered Collection includes the original Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer: Red Alert along with all of their respective expansions. The remaster was first announced in November of 2018. The collection is currently available on Steam and Origin.
It’s funny because the trailer starts off listing the normal things, such as 4K resolution (can also switch to legacy graphics), 100+ missions, fully rebuilt multiplayer, and over 7 hours of remastered music from Frank Klepaki.
Then the video gets to the New & Remastered features and there are so many they starting being shown at a higher speed than the leisurely pace of the upgrades, like a pharmaceutical TV commercial reading off the fine print.
Some of the New & Remastered features are things like an enhanced sidebar, a map editor, mod support, customizable hotkeys, and more. There is a whole lot of love that these two games have received and the trailer gives the full rundown.
The original Command & Conquer was released in 1995 with Red Alert arriving one year later in 1996. It’s safe to say these games have achieved classic video game status. At the same time, anyone who has now thought about how old these games are probably feels old themselves. We want to offer you a sincere apology.
You can see the trailer for yourself here and below.
Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is available for purchase now on both Steam and Origin.
