Today Compile Heart released a fairly long gameplay video of its upcoming JRPG Arc of Alchemist.
The video showcases about nine minutes of gameplay and includes a look at how the game’s outpost building features work, on top of equipment, crafting, and battle footage aplenty.
One of the most intriguing aspects of this upcoming game is the fact that part of the artwork has been designed by the famous pen of fantasy master Yoshitaka Amano. I’m sure that anyone who plays JRPG will be familiar with the name if anything due to his work on the Final Fantasy series.
Arc of Alchemist is a JRPG based on a completely new IP, and it includes some base building mechanics that are extensively showcased in this video, and are certainly a rather original concept for Compile Heart.
The game will release in Japan on Feb. 7, 2019, following a delay that made it slide beyond its original 2018 window. A western release has already been announced for next summer. Yet, we don’t have a precise date just yet. Of course, as soon as Compile Heart and Idea Factory International announce it, you’ll hear it here on Twinfinite.
You can check out the video below. If you want to see more, you can enjoy the previous gameplay footage, another video, an earlier trailer, and the opening cutscene.
