New Gridiron Mode Replaces Uplink in Call of Duty: WWII

Tossin' around the pigskin.

Call of Duty: WWII is introducing a new Gridiron mode, which is essentially an update of the popular Uplink game mode. Gridiron will be a little more believable for the time period the game is set in this time around, as the name suggests. You can see in the shot shared by Sledgehammer Games’ Michael Condrey that it’s very clearly a football this time around.

Uplink is a game mode where players were tasked with picking up a ball, carrying it around, and throwing it to score and stay in the game. There isn’t much additional information about the mode just yet, but it’s something to get excited about, for sure.

Aside from introducing Gridiron, Condrey gave Call of Duty site Charlie Intel a brief glimpse at the game’s upcoming London map. It’s one of the maps players will be able to play Gridiron on.

Luckily there’s not much time left to wait until Call of Duty: WWII releases on Nov. 3 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and we can check it all out for ourselves.
