Valheim has just gotten its first major update, Hearth and Home, which adds a ton of new crafting recipes to the game, along with some big system changes and overhauls that will take players a bit of time to get used to. For instance, the cooking system comes with some critical changes, as well as various new recipes that will help the game feel more dynamic. Here’s how to get the Iron Cooking Station in Valheim.
Getting the Iron Cooking Station in Valheim
As the name suggests, the Iron Cooking Station is really just a new and improved version of the original Cooking Station that you can craft near the beginning of the game.
With the introduction of this new item, Lox Meat and Serpent Meat can no longer be cooked with the regular Cooking Station, and will require the Iron variant instead.
First off, getting the materials to craft the Iron Cooking Station is fairly easy, and we’ve listed them below:
- 3 Iron
- 3 Chains
The Iron can be obtained in the Swamp biome, though you do need to beat the Elder boss first to get the Swamp Key. With the Key, you can then unlock the crypts in the Swamps and farm Muddy Scrap, which can then be converted to Iron with the Furnace. Chains can also be obtained in the Swamps biome, either through chests in the crypts, or by killing the Ghoul enemies you encounter in that biome itself.
Once you have everything, equip the Hammer and you should see the Iron Cooking Station pop up in your building menu. Do note that you need to place it over a flame in order to cook anything.
Once you craft the Iron variant, you no longer have any need for the regular version as it can cook pretty much anything, and it also allows you to cook five items at once. This allows you to be a bit more efficient with your cooking, which is handy when you’re in a rush to go on another expedition.
That’s all you need to know about how to get the Iron Cooking Station in Valheim. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
