More than two years after the last game, EA Sports’ fourth UFC game is finally out. While there are complicated things to know to succeed in the brawls, it’s important that you know the basics well from the start. So that you can get on top in a fight, here’s everything you need to know about how to clinch in UFC 4.
If you’re new to the sport or the UFC games, a clinch is a close-quarters grapple that allows you to attack quickly and multiple times. After performing a clinch, you’re also able to transition into other kinds of attacks.
How to Clinch in UFC 4
Even if you’ve played the previous games in the EA Sports series, you might be a little confused about how to clinch in UFC 4. That’s because the input has changed a little.
What you need to do to clinch in UFC 4 is press RB and Y/RB and X if you’re playing on Xbox One or R1 and Triangle/R1 and Square if you’re on PS4. Which one you use depends on what lead hand you’re using. This is the same case in the inputs we’ve detailed down below, so keep that in mind.
Once you’ve done it successfully, you have a few options for going on the offensive.
If you press the same buttons again, you’ll be able to change to different holds, and you’ll be able to press the controller face buttons to strike your opponent.
Holding L2/LT can also change the type of strike. For example, holding the left trigger at the same time will allow you to change kicks into knees while in a clinch.
Also, pressing LB, X and A (Y and B for other lead hand) on Xbox One (L1, Square, and X on PS4/Y and B for other lead hand) will let you elbow your opponent with them grappled to you.
That’s everything you need to know about how to clinch in UFC 4. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
