There are a total of five different ones to use in Super Mario Maker 2, four returning from the original game and one new one. Here’s what they all are.

  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario Bros. 3
  • Super Mario World
  • New Super Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario 3D World

Now you can swap between any of these on the fly while you’re creating stages, letting you switch things up however you want. Keep in mind that each stage can only be one style.

To change styles you’ll need to be on the creation screen, with all the tools in front of you. You’ll see your current style at the top of the menu section on the left side of your screen.

All you need to do is select that icon with your style, and a menu will pop up letting you choose from the others.

Just pick the one you want and back out, then wait a few seconds while the game loads up the new style. Keep in mind, of course, that story mode already has pre-assigned styles that change as the levels do.

That’s everything you need to know about how to change styles in Super Mario Maker 2.
