There are a ton of fish to catch in Nier Replicant through its fishing mini-game. A large number of them are tricky to find though, thanks to the specific ways in which they need to be caught. If you’re having trouble with Royal Fish, we’re here to help. Here’s how to catch Royal Fish in Nier Replicant.
How to Catch Royal Fish in Nier Replicant
To catch Royal Fish, you’ll need to head over to the Eastern Road, which is located to the east of Nier’s village. Be sure to have Earthworms as bait so that the right fish appears on the hook. Earthworms can be bought from the Tackle Shopkeeper in Seafront for 10 gold each, so they’re pretty inexpensive if you don’t already have some.
Once you have Earthworms, cast your line at the bank of the river along the Eastern Road. Wait for the right time, then press Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox to start reeling in your Royal Fish.
To fully reel it in, pull back on the left analog stick, in the opposite direction of the ripples in the water. For example, pull straight back if the ripples are directly in front of you. If they’re to your left, pull back and to the left slightly.
Once you complete the Fisherman’s Gambit quest for Royal Fish, it can be bought at the Fish Shop in Seafront for 8,000 gold each.
