As in previous games, earning fans essentially boils down to your on-court performance during MyCareer mode, especially when playing NBA games. Pulling off exciting, Highlight Moves like alley-oops, dunks, blocks, and catching lobs will get the crowd on your side and see them join your cause.

Additionally, scoring after doing dribble moves (crossovers, behind the backs, spin moves, etc.) will also help you gain fans.

You will know when you’ve done a Highlight Move if the camera cuts to the stands, and a number shows up indicating the number of fans you gained.
