How to Get the Borealis Exotic Sniper Rifle in Destiny 2

Recommended Videos

There are quite a few exotics available in Destiny 2, all of which provide some unique perks and interesting powers to take advantage of when you’re in PvE taking out aliens or in the Crucible testing the might of your fellow guardians. One of the weapons currently out in Destiny 2 is actually exclusive to the PS4 for the time being, and it’s called the Borealis. It is a sniper rifle with high impact and is able to have its element changed simply by holding down the reload button. This means it’s a great weapon for dealing with bosses and will make a great option to bring with you into Nightfalls where elements can change.

Of course, before you can utilize the Borealis’ powerful ability in Destiny 2, you must first actually acquire the weapon. That’s easier said than done. Unlike certain weapons which are obtained through a 100% guaranteed quest, the Borealis is a completely random drop in Destiny 2. You can get it from an exotic engram (or a legendary one if you’re lucky), from leveling up vendors, or as part of a reward from one of the weekly Milestones. We’re unsure if Xur will ever sell this whenever he does decide to come around, but even then, his wares are random.

Your best bet is to keep up with the levels for vendors while also farming for engrams. Eventually, it will drop for you and you’ll have one of the best weapons currently in the game on PS4. Xbox One and PC players will have to wait until the exclusivity deal runs out in about a year.
