End Credits Scene
And that brings us to the end credits of Bugsnax, but there is one final scene that reveals something sinister that’s been going on in the background this entire time.
It reveals that your ex-boss, Clumby, has been speaking to a mysterious person, who seems to be involved with the Grumpinati, Bugsnax’s version of the Illuminati. He asks her if they suspect anything about the real truth and then tells her that they need to keep an eye on us.
Their phone conversation ends with two phrases: Tu Quid Edas and Omne Vivum Ex Bugsnax.
According to Google Translate, the former means something like “you are what you eat,” and the latter is “all life is from Bugsnax.”
The game doesn’t go deeper into this mysterious relationship between these two characters, but we do know that something has been happening behind the scenes.
This could possibly lead to a potential sequel to Bugsnax in the future or a DLC, or it could just be a cliffhanger to keep players on their toes.
There’s one thing I would like to bring up as well that happens in the opening of the game involving your boss. During a conversation, she randomly covers up one eye with her hand and then there’s some black on the sides of the screen. It happens very quickly, but this could be foreshadowing to her being a part of the Grumpinati.
Also, in the credits scene, there is a photo of Eggabell and Lizbert sitting on the beach watching a sunset together. It’s not clear whether they actually survived or if this is just a way to show that they might’ve perished but are still together somewhere in blissful peace.
We also see a quick shot of one of the strawberry-like Bugsnax making it on to the mainland from the same ship that brought everyone back here safely. This could mean that the Bugsnak is on its way to the city to potentially cause some problems, but who knows?
And that’s the ending of Bugsnax explained. If you feel like you have any questions about the plot, feel free to shoot a comment down below, and we’ll try to answer them as best as we can!
