Pet Displays
This Stardew Valley mod, among the best of January 2019 adds tons of super cute displays to keep animals in to make your house feel more lived in and full of character.
Some of the animal displays include birds, frogs, snakes, fish, and more. There are even cute items for the animals already offered in game like a cat scratching post tree. Unfortunately, they are not animated so the animals all stand still, but they still look super cute.

Farm Type Manager
Starting a new game and not sure which farm layout appeals to you more? You’re going to want to download this mod.
It allows you to mix and match different aspects of the farm maps to create your own perfect layout. Therefore, you can choose what types of things will naturally spawn on the map, whether they be small like ore and forageable plants or large objects like stumps, boulders, and meteorites.
You can also choose the number of objects spawned on your farm per day, which areas or terrain types they can spawn on, and the chances of spawning each object type to keep some items rare.

Baechu’s Portraits
We can never have enough NPC portraits, and this newest set with a distinct anime style was one of the most popular mods released last month.
The art is really impressive, making the sprites looks brand new while still distinctly their original characters. Since this mod was released earlier in the month it has already been downloaded and used over two thousand times.

Health and Stamina Regeneration
If realism isn’t as important to you and you would rather get the most out of your day, then this is the mod for you.
Once installed, your health and stamina will automatically regenerate like loading bars overtime, instead of requiring you to go to sleep to replenish your energy for the next day.
The regeneration is every two seconds in real time for both health and stamina. There is still an element of challenge though, as if you take damage the health regeneration goes on cooldown for two seconds and while you are exerting yourself stamina regeneration goes on cooldown for one second.
You’ll be able to spend way more time in the mines, and have a larger farm earlier on without worrying about how much energy you have left after watering all your crops.

Gem Replacements
You’ll think you are playing a Steven Universe game when you download this mod that changes the appearance for all the gems in the game adding a lot more detail and variety of color to their sprites.
While this change is purely for aesthetics, adding small details like these can really make your game feel fresh in the long run.

Wear More Rings
The title says it all, this mod allows your farmer to wear more rings instead of the usual two in the vanilla game.
This way, you can really layer up on some of the bonuses that the rings can give you. In total you can now wear six rings at one time. Some of the ring buffs include 10% speed increase, no damages from slimes, a glow ring that acts as a flashlight, and much more.

Hunger System
If managing your stamina and health isn’t enough of a challenge, this mod also adds a hunger level you will have to monitor to make sure your farmer never gets too hungry.
The way it works is your energy is reduced based on both your maximum energy and your current hunger level. The hungrier you get, the quicker it will go down. While not eating at all will not kill you, you will pass out and have to walk up and eat something before you gain any energy back.
Small indicators in the bottom left of the screen will tell you if you are hungry, how what you ate affected your level, or if you are fully satisfied.

Ship from Inventory
Normally to ship crops and items to sell you have to go to the box beside you house. This simple mod offers a quicker fix by allowing you to ship from the menu screen no matter where you are.
This will allow you to sell more items you find in the mine right away, and not risk using up all your slots to pick up only the best stuff while you are out. It works just like the trash can and is such a small but appreciated change that you would think the game would have included the option from day one.

Robin Romance
The vanilla game does not allow you to romance or marry Robin, and this mod finally makes that possible.
Robin is the local carpenter in Stardew Valley and is one of the first NPCs you meet in the game. She is technically married to Demetrius, but lets just pretend that never happened once you install this mod.
Enjoy all the new dialog and the option to marry this cute red-head who is know to be a little hot-headed.
