Far Cry New Dawn Guns for Hire Ranked

Hurk Drubman Jr.

  • Vehicle
  • Fast Hands: Hurk reloads faster
  • Heat Seeker: RPGs will track air and land vehicles

As entertaining as Hurk is, that doesn’t really stop him from being the least useful Gun for Hire in Far Cry New Dawn. He carries an RPG around, which is nice, but there aren’t all that many situations in the game where you’d really, absolutely need an RPG to get through your enemies.

There are relatively few missions where you’ll get chased by dangerous vehicles, so Hurk’s abilities aren’t going to help you that much. You’d be better off with faster allies who can take down enemies more quickly.

Far Cry New Dawn Guns for Hire Ranked

Pastor Jerome

  • Vehicle
  • Holy Fire: Jerome throws a Molotov Cocktail
  • Blessed Bullets: Jerome uses incendiary ammo

Armed with a shotgun, Pastor Jerome isn’t too shabby at all. He’s a decent assault Gun for Hire who can deal good amounts of damage to enemies. As you level him up, he’ll start setting everything on fire, which is great for stunning enemies in Far Cry New Dawn.

The issue? Him setting things on fire can set you on fire as well. Pastor Jerome is decent, but we wish he had a bit more utility.

Far Cry New Dawn Guns for Hire Ranked

Carmina Rye

  • Vehicle
  • Dynamite: Carmina throws a stick of dynamite
  • Make It a Triple: Carmina throws three sticks of dynamite in quick succession

Both Carmina and Jerome are pretty much interchangeable to be honest, with the only real difference between the two being the molotovs and dynamite.

I’d argue that dynamite is much more useful than molotov cocktails, as they can instantly kill an enemy if thrown correctly. Being able to throw three sticks of dynamite in very quick succession can also be extremely deadly to tougher enemies if you direct her properly.

Far Cry New Dawn Guns for Hire Ranked

Gina Guerra

  • Vehicle
  • Who’s Counting: Gina has unlimited ammo
  • Overload: Gina uses explosive ammo

If you’d like someone with a bit more explosive power than Carmina, Gina Guerra can be quite the devastating Gun for Hire once she’s fully leveled up.

Her second ability gives her unlimited ammo, which is already pretty insane as this means she can just unload her guns on enemies with little pause or hesitation. Once you unlock explosive ammo for her, you’ll be able to clear enemy bases very quickly. She isn’t exactly ideal for stealthy situations in Far Cry New Dawn, though.

Far Cry New Dawn Guns for Hire Ranked

Horatio

  • Shield Break: When Horatio charges someone with a shield, he will knock it from their grasp
  • Pig’s Endurance: When Horatio is down, he gets back on his feet without your help
  • Porcine Fury: In a fit of rage, Horatio destroys everything in his path

Also not a very good stealth option, but if you want a serious bruiser in Far Cry New Dawn, you can’t go wrong with Horatio. You’ll start running into shielded enemies pretty early on in the game, and Horatio will be able to disarm them for you with ease.

As you level him up, he gets pretty self-sufficient as well, with the ability to pick himself back up without any resistance. His Porcine Fury can help clear out areas for you quickly, and we definitely recommend taking him along if you just want to destroy things.

Far Cry New Dawn Guns for Hire Ranked

Nana

  • Silencer: She puts silencers on everything
  • Smoke Monster: Nana sees through smoke
  • Piercing Gaze: Nana shoots through cover

Nana is a great Gun for Hire to take with you in pretty much every situation except boss fights in Far Cry New Dawn. She’s silent and deadly, and if you have the patience to direct her, you can liberate outposts with ease.

Even when you get spotted, Nana’s still a nice ally to have around, just due to the sheer amount of damage she can put out. Her final two abilities are useful for open firefights and intense engagements, but she’s best used for stealthy encounters. The only downside is that she can be slow when shooting.

Far Cry New Dawn Guns for Hire Ranked

Timber

  • Retriever: Timber will tag enemies, dig Crafting Materials and sometimes fetch a weapon after an attack
  • Pointer: Timber will tag Crafting Materials nearby and alarms
  • Guard Dog: Timber will intercept animals trying to attack you

One of the very first Guns for Hire you can get in Far Cry New Dawn, Timber serves as a scout who can mark all sorts of items and enemies for you. He’s a great ally to have with you during the early game, and even during one of the late-game boss fights.

When liberating outposts, he will mark nearby enemies and alarms for you, showing you exactly where you need to go. If you’re looting areas, he can also mark materials.

The Guard Dog ability will be invaluable all throughout the game, and will virtually prevent you from being blindsided by aggressive animals.

Far Cry New Dawn Guns for Hire Ranked

The Judge

  • Stealth: When you are this silent, you prefer your feet to a vehicle
  • Feral Friendly: When the Judge is with you, animals will not attack unless they are attacked first
  • Harsh Judgement: The Judge shoots three arrows simultaneously at a target

The Judge is, hands down, the best Gun for Hire you can take with you in almost all situations in Far Cry New Dawn, except perhaps for one boss fight.

The Judge is completely silent, and will never be spotted by enemies. This means that liberating outposts should be a breeze, as you can simply direct him to take down enemies quietly on one side, while you focus on another area. His Feral Friendly ability is also similar to Guard Dog in that it prevents you from getting ambushed by enemies.

Finally, Harsh Judgement is essentially an instant kill on most enemies, aside from Elites, assuming that you’ve been keeping up with your Prosperity upgrades to keep your Guns for Hire strong.
