5 Things to Do First in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

Check out the New Training Area Features

Considering that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne comes with few new combat options like the Clutch Claw, it would make sense to try the new options out in the training area, which has some new features to help you with your techniques.

By talking to the Palico right in front of your bedroom, you can enter the training area and try out the clutch claw.

Capcom has also added some other neat stuff like a combo damage display, new objects to grapple on to, and it’s always useful to go in and try some new stuff out.

Explore Seliana and the Gathering Hub

The new gathering hub in Seliana, the outpost in the Hoarfrost region, is probably my favorite thing about the entire area as it features several hot spring baths for you to play around in with your friends and your feline companions.

You can splash water on each other, take cute photos using the new view mode, take a steam bath, and much more.

If you and your squad feel tired after a long days hunt, you can head inside and warm up and just chill out and watch the snowfall thanks to the gorgeous views.

This should be one of your first destinations when you enter Seliana.

Decorate Your New Room

With a new region comes a new bedroom for you to show off to your fellow hunters. Yup, you heard me: in a future update for Iceborne, you will be able to invite players to your room to brag about your new carpet and introduced them to all of the pets that you’ve captured out on the field.

Before that update does launch, you gotta be sure to be prepared and ready to host your buddies.

If you talk to the housekeeper in your room, you can change all kinds of stuff like your wall decorations, your couch, your bed, your rugs, and even the color of the floor –yeah, it’s a lot.

Try out The Steamworks

The Steamworks is entirely new to the Monster Hunter series and you can find this feature right next to the gathering hub over in Seliana.

The power generated by the Steamworks fuels all of the new outpost and you can earn some really good items and materials by helping the chief out with its operation between hunts.

By completing quests, you can add fuel to the machine, which then lets you use said fuel to play a little mini-game to earn special items.

It’s essentially a randomizes guessing game, but it’s super easy to use and without spending any of your money, you can get all kinds of useful things.

Get That Warming Jewel

Since you will spend a good chunk of your time in the new Hoarfrost region in Iceborne, having hot drinks is necessary if you plan on keeping your health bar full. But, there is an easier and more efficient way to keep warm without having to worry about keeping an extra item in your inventory.

Once you get started in the Iceborne quests, you will eventually come across a warming jewel. By adding this decoration to one of your weapon slots, it will nullify all of the effects of cold weather.

Just make sure to have this bad boy equipped to your weapon or to your armor so that your hunter doesn’t catch frostbite. It’s really helpful when you’re fighting a large monster as you don’t have to worry about popping those potions.
