Best Feats for a Rogue in BG3
While there are plenty of Feats in Baldur’s Gate 3, we have decided on 10 that provide the best perks and bonuses. These will work with any Rogue subclass, so that isn’t a concern or obstacle.
Ability Increase

Feat Name | Description | Requirements |
Ability Improvement | You increase one Ability by 2, or two Abilities by 1, to a maximum of 20. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
While it’s easy to overlook them in favor of Feats that add more drastic mechanics or benefits for your Tav, Ability improvement is without a doubt the most important Feat to keep in mind as you progress through levels. This Feat provides the player with two bonus Ability Points that they can use to strengthen core stats to eventually reach the maximum of 20.
Doing so is crucial, as buffing the core stats that your Class utilizes will not only give your character the ability to have a greater impact through more consistent hits and improved passive skills and Skill Checks but also to deal more damage. This is because core stats are also linked to your Spellcasting Modifier and Damage Modifier.
Rogues should first aim to get their DEX up to the maximum of 20 ASAP, as this will improve their Fiesse Weapon damage, Stealth, Sneak Attack, Lockpicking, and Trap Disarming. Secondary priority usually falls into either CON for extra HP, or CHA if your Rogue is taking on the dedicated Charisma role in your party. On occasion, INT may come into play as a second priority here, as the Arcane Trickster Subclass needs this stat for their Spellcasting Modifier.
Dual Wielder

Dual Wielder | You can use Two-Weapon Fighting even if your weapons aren’t Light, and you gain a +1 bonus to AC while wielding a melee weapon in each hand. You cannot dual-wield Heavy Weapons. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
If you’ve built out a Rogue as more of an Assassin, you’ve likely stuck to equipping them with two daggers. While this is certainly effective, there are limited options when it comes to strong knives and daggers in the game.
However, there are some terrific swords, and with the Dual Wielder feat, you can give your Rogue more versatility to better maximize their damage output by allowing them to dual-wield larger armaments — including the likes of rapiers or crossbows. You also get the bonus to Armor Class even if you only equip two daggers, so it’s worthwhile no matter what you choose to equip.
Mage Slayer

Mage Slayer | When a creature casts a spell within melee range of you, you have Advantage on any Saving Throw against it, and you can use a reaction to immediately attack the caster. Enemies you hit have Disadvantage on Concentration Saving Throws. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
There are a ton of magic users you’ll fight throughout the Baldur’s Gate 3 campaign. The range of their attacks makes them dangerous, but there is a clear way to gain the upper hand while they spend every turn slinging spells.
Taking the Mage Slayer Feat with a Rogue is perfect in this regard. This allows them to sneak up behind said magical foes, and if their initial sneak attack misses or fails to kill the target, their follow-up spell use gives you a free shot by expending your reaction to attack them. As Rogues often dart in and out of melee range, they will have the opportunity to trigger Mage Slayer consistently, as well as the option to dash back out with their Cunnning Action if things become troublesome.
Mobile

Mobile | Your movement speed increases by 3m and difficult terrain doesn’t slow you down when you Dash. If you move after making a melee attack, you don’t provoke Opportunity Attacks from your target. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
Considering a Rogue is all about sneaking and stealth, it makes sense to give them this Feat. Mobile cancels out any sort of movement penalty based on difficult terrain while Dashing, and you get a permanent movement speed boost. As Rogues can Dash as a Cunning (Bonus) Action, this equips them with the flexibility to get out of almost any threat involving difficult terrain.
Rogues, despite their ability to dash in and out, are rather squishy fighters on the field. For this reason, the ability to attack an enemy and then save your Bonus/Cunning action by simply walking away is huge. Rogues will not have to fear the reprisal of an opportunity attack in this situation thanks to Mobile, which is exceptionally useful for getting them in and out of an enemy’s range fast.
Savage Attacker

Savage Attacker | When making weapon attacks, you roll your damage dice twice and use the highest result. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
Rogues can make multiple weapon attacks rolls per turn through Sneak Attack, Off-Hand Attack, or Extra Attack (through Multiclass), so the chance to get the guaranteed best ‘damage’ roll is very beneficial.
Luckily, Savage Attacker does this by allowing you to roll twice when making a melee attack. The highest roll is then used, allowing you to substantially increase your chances of hitting or ‘Crit’-ing an opponent. As every bit of damage counts in BG3, Savage Attacker can come in clutch in many situations.
Sharpshooter

Sharpshooter | Your ranged weapon attacks do not receive penalties from High Ground Rules. Ranged weapon attacks with weapons you are Proficient with have a -5 penalty to their Attack Roll, but deal an additional 10 damage. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
All Rogues tend to utilize Bows from time to time, but for those who are playing a ranged Rogue or sniper build, this Feat is an absolute must. While you lose -5 points on your roll to hit, Rogues are constantly proccing Advantage through Stealth and Sneak Attack, and paired with a maximum DEX skill, you’ll certainly find Sharpshooter bringing more benefit than harm.
For every successful hit, you will gain +10 damage to your total. This applies to Opportunity Attacks and Off-Hand Attacks. As Rogues can trigger these so frequently, stacking an additional +10 damage multiple times per turn stacks up to make quite the impact overall, and can assist you in focusing down certain targets.
Skilled

Feat Name | Description | Requirements |
Skilled | You gain Proficiency in 3 Skills of your choice. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
Skilled is useful in that it lets you select three new proficiencies. For a Rogue, this can mean gaining the next level of armor class or equipping more melee weapon types. This is also the perfect time to give your Rogue the proficiency for Heavy Crossbows and become a true ranged menace.
Lucky

Feat Name | Description | Requirements |
Lucky | You gain 3 Luck Points, which you can use to gain Advantage on Attack Rolls, Ability Checks, or Saving Throws, or to make an enemy reroll their Attack Rolls. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
With Lucky, you get three luck points, which can be used as an advantage during a fight to give you Advantage in situations such as Saving Throws, Ability Checks, and Attack Rolls. This can make the difference in getting that last hit in on an enemy or surviving an incoming Spell. This feature replenishes after a long rest, so players can plan ahead with how they want to utilize this Feat.
Alert

Feat Name | Description | Requirements |
Alert | You gain a +5 bonus to Initiative and can’t be Surprised. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
If you’re playing an Assassin Rogue, Alert is almost a must-take for this Subclass. Assassins gain automatic Advantage over any enemy who has not yet taken a turn in battle. Alert gives a +5 to your Initiative Roll, meaning they have the best chance of scoring the highest and being the first to move in combat.
This also works brilliantly for Surprise Rounds, or initiating combat through Stealth and Sneak Attacks/ambushes, as any attack your Rogue makes against a Surprised enemy will be an automatic crit. This enables you to deal massive damage in the first round of combat, as Assassins also replenish their Action and Bonus Action when combat begins. Assassins can then use their Bonus Action and Action before or to Initiate the combat, and then immediately gain them back for follow-up with crit.
Defensive Duelist

Defensive Duelist | When attacked while wielding a Finesse Weapon you’re Proficient with, you can use a reaction to add your Proficiency Bonus to your Armor Class, possibly causing the attack to miss. | Level 4 (All Classes) |
Rogues almost always exclusively wield Finesse Weapons, so Defensive Duelist comes in handy for adding some extra protection while in combat. With this Feat, players may expend their Reaction once per turn to add their Proficiency Bonus to their Armor Class. When used selectively, this can make all the difference in the attack hitting or missing you.
As Rogues are rather squishy and tend to either stay in the backline as stealth snipers or dash in and out for melee attacks, they can struggle when surrounded or pressured by bulkier targets. Defensive Duelist gives these Rogues a fighting chance in such situations, rather than simply taking such brutal hits. This can come in crucial if you’re on low HP and just trying to survive until you or a teammate can supply some heals.
