Your Ooblets are a core part of your time in Badgetown. You’ll have them compete in Dance Battles, and you can even use them to work on your farm. If you’ve amassed a huge amount of the same Ooblet, though, you may want to get rid of some Ooblets to free up space for other, new species.
Getting Rid of Ooblets
Update: Today, July 29, Ooblets received an update introducing a sign that you can interact with up by the Wildlands (by the treehouse at the north of town).
Head to this sign and press A. You’ll then be told that Ooblets can now be released into the Wildland by interactive with this sign.
You can only get rid of Ooblets that are following you at that time. Simply select the Ooblet you want to get rid of, and press A to ‘Rehome This Ooblet.’ It will then be released into the wild. You won’t be able to get back any Ooblets you drop off here until a future update, the date of which has yet to be revealed.

Can You Get Rid of Ooblets Forever?
You cannot get rid of Ooblets. Once you’ve grown one from its seed, it’ll be with you for the remainder of the game.
If you don’t want them to follow you around, you can send them back to your farm, though. To do this, press Esc on PC or the Menu button on your Xbox One controller. Go to the ‘Ooblets’ tab and then select the Ooblet you don’t want to follow you around.
You should now have an option while it’s highlighted to ‘Send Home.’ This is X on Xbox One.
Sending Ooblets home allows you to have them work on your farm if you have an Oobcoop.
Depending on the ‘level’ of your Oobcoop, your Ooblets sent home and set to live within the coop will clear weeds, rocks, and branches from your farm. If you have a level 2 Oobcoop, you can house two Ooblets who will also water your crops within the nearby vicinity of the coop.
This is a great way of saving your energy for foraging around town or completing other activities.
A Fix to Get Rid of Ooblets Is Coming Soon!
The Ooblets developers have already stated over on both Reddit and Discord that they hadn’t anticipated players “catching multiple of the same Ooblet” and that “we’re trying to figure out a way to address this problem without trying to shoehorn in a whole new system in a day (because that will likely cause a lot of problems).”
The good news is that the developers are working on “temp solutions now,” though how quickly these will come about given that it’s been a week since the message was posted on Reddit, remains to be seen.
As soon as an update is released that enables players to release Ooblets and get rid of them forever, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.
