Phantasy Star Online 2’s open beta is finally here. Fans no longer have to wait on bated breath on every cryptic hint from the official Twitter. You can play as much PSO2 as you want provided the servers hold up for as long as the Xbox One open beta is live. Here’s how to install and download the Xbox One open beta for PSO2.
How to Download and Install Xbox One Open Beta for PSO2
Phantasy Star Online 2’s open beta for Xbox One begins today on March 17. There’s not any Saint Patrick’s Day connection that I can think of but hey whatever, top of the morning to Sega anyway!
The easiest way to download and install the PSO2 Xbox One open beta is to simply open up the Store app from your dashboard of your Xbox One. Once there, navigate your way over to the search bar on the upper right-hand corner of the screen and type in Phantasy Star Online 2. The page for the game will likely be suggested to you before you get to finish. Select that to be brought to the PSO2 page proper.
From there you should see an option on the right to Download. PSO2 is free with in-game microtransactions, so don’t worry about any costs right now. You can download the game totally free to get started and see if it’s for you. If you feel compelled to buy stuff later you can, although it’s not really necessary.
The download should be just under 70 GB for you, so make sure you have all the space. There isn’t a disc version of Phantasy Star Online 2 so you’ll to download the full size plus any updates down the road.
And that’s all there is to downloading and installing the PSO2 Xbox One Open beta!
The servers will go live at 9 PM ET on March 17 and you can go buck wild playing until the open beta is suspended at some point down the line.
