While skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) in Modern Warfare aims to provide a level playing field, it has really has only caused more problems than anything. Luckily, there is a way around having to worry about being paired up against players of a higher skill level. Here is everything you need to know about how to reverse boost in Modern Warfare.
How to Reverse Boost in Modern Warfare
Reverse boosting in Modern Warfare is exactly what it sounds like. Instead of doing everything you can to boost up your team’s firepower, you do the exact opposite: tanking the game and doing as little as possible that isn’t trying to die.
Why exactly would you do this, you ask?
Like pretty much every competitive game, Modern Warfare tracks in game skills, reflecting who the best and worst players on each team are as a result.
In most games, these stats don’t entirely matter too much, simply serving to stat track or boost the best player’s ego.
Modern Warfare, on the other hand, uses skill-based matchmaking. This means that things like kill/death ratio actually matter, creating opportunities for reverse boosting.
While we don’t really condone this tactic, all you have to do to reverse boost is die as much as physically possible without getting any kills. Doing so will land you in an easier game next time around.
For example, you end the game with a K/D of 0.4, the next lobby of players will have that average as well.
Keep in mind that it is entirely possible you could get reported for this activity, as reverse boosting has been an issue in the series in the past.
How do you reverse boost in Modern Warfare?
All you have to do to reverse boost in Modern Warfare is get a low K/D. Doing so places you in a lobby next game with players of a similar skill level.
That is everything you need to know about how to reverse boost in Modern Warfare.
