Location is everything: this technique is only useful if you are in the right place at the right time. Tallgrass is ideal, but you can also Prone Camo in deep enough snow or mud. Take notice of such terrain when you are reconnoitering your target.

Entering Prone Camo is simple enough, lie prone in the appropriate terrain and press the button prompt when it appears. By default, this is the X button on PlayStation or the A button on Xbox.

Lying prone in this fashion will help to hide you from passing drones or helicopters, and even foot soldiers will be fooled, provided they don’t trip over you.

Remember, be aware of your enemy and of your surroundings. Once you decide to use Prone Camo, you cannot move, and you are essentially a sitting duck. But if successful, you will be in a powerful position from which to strike.
