How to Play Multiplayer in Metal Gear Survive

Recommended Videos

While you can play Metal Gear Survive all on your lonesome in its single-player campaign, it’s definitely at its best when you’ve got some teammates helping you headshot those zombies. Here’s everything you need to know to play multiplayer in the game.

First off, let’s get the bad news out of the way. Metal Gear Survive does not allow you to play through its campaign in multiplayer. However, you will have the ability to play multiplayer in the salvage missions of the game, which you’ll unlock right from the start. It is advised that you finish the tutorial before jumping in, and we’d suggest you take this advice as Metal Gear Survive can feel a little overwhelming to begin with.

You can enter the co-op multiplayer staging area by talking to Virgil at the base camp. Alternatively, you can just select co-op from the main menu, and you’ll be loaded into a very sleek and sterile-looking room. You can invite friends in the staging area by bringing up the menu, selecting the Social tab, and scrolling down to the friend(s) that you want to invite. Once highlighted, use the ‘Invitation’ option to invite them into your multiplayer session.

If your friends are in the staging area, you can join their sessions by simply choosing the ‘Join’ option, instead of inviting them.
