Recommended Videos

Online multiplayer is an ever-growing presence in the vast library of titles for our current-gen consoles. The Escapists 2 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC featured co-op multiplayer when it released in August 2017, and that’s got some players wondering whether the Nintendo Switch version also has online multiplayer. After all, you only need to look at the likes of WWE 2K18 or NBA Playgrounds to see that Switch ports have been anything but perfect so far.

Well, it turns out that the good folks over at Team17 have ensured that The Escapists 2 on Switch has all the same functionality as the other platform versions. The Switch version features the same, up to four-player co-op and versus online multiplayer modes as the other version.

Plus, the Switch version also has a local co-op two-player mode. This splitscreen mode sees each player using a Joy-Con each to either work together to break out, or work against one another to see who can break out first.

That’s all you need to know regarding The Escapists 2’s online multiplayer and local split-screen modes on Switch. For more on The Escapists 2, including tips and tricks, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
