Far Cry Primal: How to Take Over Bonfires Easily

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Bonfires in Far Cry Primal are like outposts, only smaller. Your objective is to not only infiltrate a base and kill all of its inhabitants, but you must also light the bonfire as well. The setup of these locations is usually very open, allowing the enemy to have multiple vantage points, but also give you a clear line on all of your foes as well. That makes clearing Bonfires incredibly easy.

All you need to do is first scout the fire using your owl. When that’s done, take out any enemy with a good vantage point. That way, you can move around with ease if you need to. Now, pull out your bow (this is even easier if you’ve unlocked the Long Bow) and ignite an arrow. Fire directly at the bonfire to light it, this will attract the enemies nearby to investigate.

When they come out, they’ll have no clue where you are until you start firing, and even then they’ll have to actually look for you. Just pick them off with your bow. Go for headshots and you’ll clear the bonfire in no time.

For enemies wearing masks, it will take two shots to the face (although snipers tend to die with a single body shot), so just line up your shots and take them down. You can also use your owl to take out a couple of more enemies if you don’t mind the wait.

Bonfires are quick and easy if you play them from a distance and you don’t even need any pets to help. If you need help with any other aspects of this game’s cruel world, be sure to check out our expanding wiki guide.
