In terms of pairings in Chainsaw Man, few are as universally agreed upon as Denji and Power. Host to plenty of character traits and flaws which they can bounce off of each other effortlessly, they’re a match made in hell and can cause endless heaps of chaos together while still wanting the best for each other in every situation. If you’re still in the early phases of the series, though, you’re probably asking yourself: Do Denji and Power end up together in Chainsaw Man, or do they never achieve OTP status?
Well, after tearing through the manga a few times, we’ve got the answer you’re looking for. Be warned: There are *Massive Spoilers Ahead.*
Do Denji and Power Get Together in Chainsaw Man? Answered
The sad answer is that no, Denji and Power do not end up together in Chainsaw Man.
While they’re certainly an iconic pair, their relationship moves more toward one of close friends as the series goes on. This remains the case after Power is traumatized by the Darkness Devil, resulting in Denji needing to take care of her every second of every day until she recovers.
Even when they start bathing and sleeping together during this span, he notes that he doesn’t feel “naughty” while these events take place. He then realizes that he doesn’t feel the same way about Power that he does about other love interests he’s had, like Makima, cementing her in his mind as a friend or found family member.
Will Denji Ever Fall in Love With Power?
However, there are signs that their relationship could become something more than a friendship following the first saga of Chainsaw Man.
Near the climax of the Public Safety Saga, Power is killed in front of Denji’s eyes. This causes him to lose all hope, giving full control of himself over to the Chainsaw Devil so that it can fully manifest.
After being mortally wounded in this state while fighting with Devils being manipulated by the Control Devil, Power then revives as the fully-manifested Blood Devil thanks to Denji drinking her blood at one point and his full power being available for her to use. She then saves him at the cost of her own life and uses her final moments to make a contract with Denji, reviving him in exchange for him finding her again once she reincarnates. Denji is then shown to be distraught at losing Power a second time.
All of this could be an indicator that the two have stronger feelings for each other then they realize, and that Denji might view Power more romantically after she saved him. However, we can’t say for certain whether they’ll shift more toward a romantic relationship or remain close friends until Power is found by Denji again. We’ll be following the manga and anime as new content is released and will update this guide with more info if and when this occurs.
