Battlefield 2042: How to Crouch & Go Prone

Battlefield 2042 is the latest entry in EA and DICE’s popular first-person shooter franchise, and it’s finally releasing this month. While this entry doesn’t have a single-player campaign, it makes up for it with a nice variety of multiplayer modes such as the popular Breakthrough and Conquest, as well as the team-based, survival-focused Hazard Zone mode. You can’t always charge into all situations guns blazing, though; sometimes you’ll need to be a little sneakier. Here’s how to crouch and go prone in Battlefield 2042.

How to Crouch and Go Prone in Battlefield 2042

Because this is a shooter game, you might be tempted to just engage in all-out gunfights whenever you encounter an opponent. However, there are times where it might be better to be a bit stealthier instead.

Rather than rushing up to your enemies, for instance, you might choose to sneak up to them by crouching or going prone. To do this, simply press the circle button, or the X button if you’re playing on Xbox. You can also hold down the button to go prone and start crawling on the ground. This is a great way to avoid enemy attention, and will also allow you to get the drop on them more easily.

If you’re playing on PC, press L-Ctrl to crouch, and press the Z key to go prone. You can press them again when you want to go back to an upright position.

Crouching and staying close to the ground can also be a great tactic if you’re running from an enemy and want to shake them off. Stay in hiding until you’re sure they’ve lost you, then sneak up to them for another attack.

That’s all you need to know about how to crouch and go prone in Battlefield 2042. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
