Getting the Major Rune of Holding in New World

Unlike the lesser Minor Rune of Holding, the Major variant is used to craft better leather bags that will increase your carrying capacity, allowing you to gather even more resources before needing to retreat back to your base. However, obtaining it will take quite a bit of work.

First, you’ll need to progress through the story until you’re allowed to choose your faction, then keep doing faction quests until you’re eligible to undergo the Trial that will promote you to the next rank. For instance, in the case of Syndicate, you’ll need to progress until you reach the Trial of the Scrivener. It’s recommended that you wait till you’re around level 25 or 26 before attempting your Trial, as these missions can be pretty rough.

Once you’ve completed enough faction quests and gained enough faction experience, complete your Trial, then talk to your faction NPC. You’ll be promoted to the next rank and you’ll also gain access to new items to purchase in the faction shop.
