It Takes Two is the quirky rom-com co-op game from developer Hazelight Studios. It blends an engaging narrative with an interesting world filled with little puzzles that requires both protagonists — Cody and May — to work together. It’s a game about the hardships of getting along in a relationship, and it’s great fun whether you’re playing with a friend or a loved one. Here’s how to save in It Takes Two.
How to Save in It Takes Two
It Takes Two uses an auto-save feature to record your progress as you make your way through the levels. From our experience, the game auto-saved fairly regularly and would always do so after a cutscene or a boss fight.
You’ll know when the game is auto-saving, as you’ll see a Book of Love icon appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Once this has disappeared, you’re free to exit out of the game and take a break.
Can You Manually Save?
Unfortunately, no, there’s no option to ‘Save’ from the pause menu in It Takes Two. Instead, we did find that the game appeared to trigger an auto-save when we selected the ‘Quit to Main Menu’ option from the pause menu.
We’d always recommend trying to push through until you reach a point where an auto-save is naturally triggered, though, just to make sure there’s absolutely no chance of your progress being lost.
