Genshin Impact is host to a large and gorgeous world, but taking it all in on foot can be a challenge. Luckily, the game provides you with a wind glider you can use to soar in the skies above its plains, forests and cityscapes, and it’s completely free so long as you know where to go to get one. That’s why we’re here to walk you through how to get the Wind Glider in Genshin Impact.
How to Get a Wind Glider in Genshin Impact
There’s only one way to get the Wind Glider in Genshin Impact, as obtaining it is required to advance the main story.
All you have to do is play through the opening segment until you reach the city of Monstadt. Once you do, your party member Amber will give it to you, after which you can use it at your leisure following a brief tutorial on how to use it.
Speaking of which: You can use the wind glider by pressing the X Button while falling. Doing so will automatically equip the Wind Glider to your current active character, and allow them to glide through the air until they make contact with the ground or you press the button again. This can help you avoid fall damage from large drops as well as cross long distances that you might not be able to manage with jumps alone.
How to Change the Wind Glider’s Appearance
You can also change the appearance of the Wind Glider in Genshin Impact if you so choose.
This is done by opening up the main menu with the Options Button, selecting the Characters tab and then pressing the R3 Button to open up the Dressing Room. From here, you can select which of the different skins you have for the Wind Glider you want to equip.
New skins are unlocked through a variety of means, from completing certain quests to playing the game on a certain platform. As such, all you need to do to get more is play through the game as you normally would, and before long you should find a skin that’s to your liking.
