To know where you’re going on the high seas, you’ll want to know everything you can about the landscape. Here is everything you need to know about how to view the map in Windbound.
The first thing you’ll need to know about the map in Windbound is that, regardless of the chapter, every single one will be different, due to the fact that the game is a rogue-like. This means that every time you die or start a new area, the island’s size, location, and everything on them will be procedurally generated.
With that in mind, let’s go into a little bit more about the map.
How to View Map in Windbound
To take a look at your map at any point in Windbound, simply press the Touchpad. When you do, everything you’ve explored in the area will be highlighted and detailed.
The area’s you’ve yet to explore will be represented by darkness on the map. Since you start out on a small island, pretty much the entire area is obviously going to be blacked out when you start.
When you’ve collected important items, they will appear on the map as a point of interest. This helps you keep track of the secrets and collectibles you’ve unlocked along the way.
It is also important to note that the map resets every time you die. This is true even on the story difficulty, so do your best not to die, unless you want to have to unlock the map multiple times.
