Among the many things you can find and harvest resources from in Spiritfarer are Sheep, which can provide you with a highly versatile crafting component via their Wool. Figuring out how to get this component can be elusive though, which is why we’re here to walk you through how to shear sheep in Spiritfarer.
How to Shear Sheep in Spiritfarer
To shear sheep in Spiritfarer, you’ll need to have recruited the Spirit Alice onto your ship.
Shortly after you do, she’ll reveal that a sheep has followed the two of you onto the ship. She’ll then walk you through how to shear it, which is done by interacting with it by pressing the Square Button on PlayStation 4, X Button on Xbox One or Y Button on the Nintendo Switch and then scrolling over the Shear option in the interaction sub-menu.
After selecting the Shear option, you’ll automatically acquire 2 Wool from the sheep, and you’ll then need to wait a certain amount of time before you can shear it again. The amount of time will vary based on how well fed the sheep is, so feed it regularly using grains, vegetables and other unprepared cooking components.
What Wool Is Used for
As for why you’d want to shear sheep in Spiritfarer, the answer is simple: You need to gather Wool to craft items necessary to progress the game.
From house upgrades for your resident Spirits to upgrades for your ship that allow you to see more of the world, there are a number of things you can only craft once you have enough Wool, Wool Thread or Wool Fabric. As such, you’ll need to amass a sizable stockpile of the stuff throughout your playthrough, and can only do so by shearing sheep as many times as you can.
