How to Backstab in Nioh 2
You may have already tried sneaking up on an enemy, only to find out that a backstab option isn’t available. Well, the ability to backstab is there, but just not at the very beginning of the game. You’ll need to progress just a bit in order to be able to backstab in Nioh 2.
Unlocking the Skill
Backstabbing is actually a skill in Nioh 2 that needs to be unlocked via the Ninja skill tree. The skill you need to acquire is called Sneak Attack, and it’ll cost you one Ninja skill point to obtain.
In order to get Ninja skill points, you can use a couple of different methods. You can either use an item known as Ninja’s Locks to immediately gain a skill point, or regularly use Ninja items in battle such as bombs until you earn a skill point.
Using the Skill
To put Sneak Attack to good use, all you’ll have to do is sneak up on an enemy (hence the name), and press triangle once the reticle on-screen turns from white to red. This will allow you to perform a backstab in Nioh 2, but you’ll need to get very close without being detected for it to work.
