Borden can count on over two decades of experience in the field of marketing for video games and tech companies, having worked at companies like Namco, Ncsoft, and Robot Entertainment.

He started his career in 2000 as Marketing Director of 3DO, so he’s certainly quite the veteran.

According to the press release, he plans to focus on driving Bandai Namco’s  “evolution in the Games-as-a-Service sector as well as expanding its digital marketing & communications capabilities and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs.”

We also get a comment from Borden himself:

“Today, video games offer more entertainment options, through more platforms, for a wider range of players, than ever before in its history and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment is poised to offer some of the most unique and compelling content to players around the globe.

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment’s exciting product line-up, which encompasses a wide range of popular genres and IPs, offers countless opportunities to delight our customers. I look forward to opening new avenues of growth for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment’s business in the Americas.”

While this isn’t mentioned in the announcemeny, speaking of Games-as-a-Service, Bandai Namco may have an ace up its seleeve with the recently-revealed MMORPG Blue Protocol.

The game has not yet been announced for the west, by a recent career opportunity ad strongly hints to the possibility of a localized launch in English.
