The news comes via a blog post from the Fortnite Team. In it, the team shares the news that Fortnite will be moving to a new physics engine in the coming weeks.

“Beginning with the release of the 11.50 update in early February, Fortnite will be moving to Unreal Engine’s Chaos Physics Engine.” The team also states that it expects there to be some issues when the change is first implemented, but will “closely monitoring feedback and making improvements over time.”

Shortly after the switch to the new Chaos Physics Engine, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 will then finally commence.

Epic Games has today shared that it expects Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2’s release date to be Thursday, February 20. The blog post teases the new features and what players can expect, but doesn’t quite share it just yet.

To keep players happy in the meantime, the team announced that more Overtime Challenges will be releasing, and a new two-week event will be taking place. Possibly a Lunar New Year event? Who knows.
