Throughout the course of the Season of Dawn in Destiny 2, Bungie is releasing new Obelisks that can be upgraded to dole out new perks, and activated to obtain new and returning weapons. One of the new weapons added during Season of Dawn is the Line in the Sand Legendary Linear Fusion Rifle. Let’s go over how to get Line in the Sand in Destiny 2.
How to Get Line in the Sand Legendary Linear Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2
Like other obelisk weapons in Destiny 2, you first need to have access to the correct obelisk, in this case Nessus.
Complete the quest The Tangled Shore and then return to Osiris to begin the obelisk quest for Mars.
The quest is pretty simple like all the others, you’ll kill 50 Hive on Mars to collect Braytech parts. You can very easily complete this by just starting up an Escalation Protocol event anywhere on the planet and let the Hive come to you.
After completing this step return and bank the parts at the obelisk on Mars.

How to Get Line in the Sand Legendary Linear Fusion Rifle
- Attune to the Obelisk on Mars
- Activate Mars Obelisk as Primary and/or complete weapon bounties from Mars Obelisk after reaching Resonance Rank 2
Then, as you have done for the other obelisks, you have to kill enemies with your super, generate orbs of light and/or pick up orbs of light on Nessus.
The quickest and easiest way to do this is on Mars is to once again fire up Escalation Protocol. It can be done in one super if you have a densely packed enough area, but should definitely not take more than two at the worst.
After that, return to the obelisk one last time and bank the light. You now have attuned to it.
From this point on, as long as you have Mars activated as your primary Obelisk, you can run the sundial to receive Line in the Sand as many times as you like to farm for your god roll.
If you don’t have it active, you can pick up bounties for Line in the Sand instead from the Mars Obelisk once it’s at resonance level 2, but you won’t be churning out re-rolls as fast as you would if you just ran Sundial over and over and did the bounties.
