Defeating Enemies

There are three primary ways you can earn XP in Star Wars Fallen Order. The first is to defeat enemies. Regardless of how hard or easy they are, you’ll earn some experience.

The harder enemies will net you more experience, which will be reflected on your experience bar at the top of the screen. You’ll want to focus on beating all enemies you come across, and even using the Meditation Points to respawn enemies so you can farm them.

Collecting Force Echoes

On each of Fallen Order’s planets, you’ll be able to find things that are glowing blue. These can be random items or just spots on the wall.

Whenever you see one of these, walk over to it and press in the right analog stick (R3) to interact with it. A brief audio clip will play as Cal connects with the memory related to it. You’ll also get a new entry in your Data Pad and will earn some experience for each one you find.

Some glowing blue objects can also be Force Essence. These are basically the same as Force Echoes, but they’ll increase Cal’s max health or Force once three have been collected. They also add to your experience, so pick these up, too.

Scanning the Planet to Get XP Fast in Jedi Fallen Order

The final way to earn XP and the best way to get skill points fast in Star Wars Fallen Order is to scan everything you possibly can on each planet.

At times, BD-1 will hop off your shoulder and run over to something in your nearby surroundings. Walk over to him and press down on the d-pad and it’ll begin scanning whatever it is that he’s found.

This mainly just adds some more information to your Data Pad in-game, providing information about the planet, that particular species of plant or creature, or so on.

You can also scan defeated enemies to get tips on how to beat them in combat. Each time you do this, you’ll earn some experience. There are plenty of things to scan, so keep an eye out for BD-1 running off.

How to Spend Skill Points & Unlock New Abilities

Once you’ve got skill points to spend, you’ll need to find one of the Meditation Points that are faintly glowing blue circles on the ground. Press R3 to rest at it, and then press X/ A to open up your skill tree. Select the ability you’d like to unlock and press and hold X/ A to unlock it.

You’ll also notice that some nodes on your skill tree are blacked out completely. This means that they’re locked and you cannot buy that ability for Cal just yet. You’ll unlock new abilities in Star Wars Fallen Order by simply progressing through the story.
