Shenmue 3 sees the return of Ryo, still hunting down the man who killed his father, Lan Di, in order to take revenge. A skill in Shenmue 3 is essentially just a new combo that Ryo can learn that will help him in combat. These can be purchased from shops or exchange items and herbs for them at the pawn shop.
How to Equip Skills in Shenmue 3
Once you know what you want and would like to equip, open the menu by pressing R1. Inside the menu, go to the Skill Book Editor.
The Skill Book Editor allows you to equip the various skills you’ve picked up along the way. There are two options to pick from: AT (Auto) and M (manual).
Auto will choose the skills you have access to automatically, while the three different manual options will let you choose exactly which ones you want.
During battle you can either press R2 to instantly use the equipped skill, or you can press the proper button input.
With these deadly sets of skill now at Ryo’s disposal, Lan Di will be quaking in their boots at the thought of his arrival.
