A couple of important things first to get out of the way. Depending on what mode you’re playing in Planet Zoo (scenarios, tutorials vs. sandbox) you may not have access to every animal. The scenarios have specific restrictions designed to challenge you to think outside the box and potentially leave your comfort zone.

If you just want to play totally unrestricted, fire up sandbox mode from the main menu to let your creativity in Planet Zoo go wild.

If you’re in sandbox mode, once you set up a trading post, the most basic thing every Zoo needs essentially, you can see all of the animals that can be either adopted or rescued.

There are two types of animals in Planet Zoo. Trading Post animals, and Exhibit Animals. The ones from the trading post are your typical high-profile stuff like Elephants and Lions. The Exhibit Animals feature stuff like snakes and spiders.

This guide is going to list all of the animals you can get from the trading post. For all the Exhibit Animals, check out this guide here.

Finally, while the trading post in sandbox mode will list all of the animals, they still have very specific requirements. Listing each and every one here would turn this quick list into a small book.

However, to see the requirements for every animal click on any animal listing within the trading post once it’s set up. Then on the right hand side of that screen, look for the Zoopedia prompt.

From there on the top hand bar, click Nature Habitat and it will bring you to a screen that lists all the land, water, climbing, and temperature requirements for the animal you have selected.

Without further ado, let’s get into all the trading post animals in Planet Zoo:
