Regardless of what weapon you’re using, the input to reload in Borderlands 3 is always the same. On PlayStation 4, you need to press the square button; on Xbox One, you need to press the X button; and on PC, you need to press the R button.

Like most other first person shooters on the market today, Borderlands 3 doesn’t penalize you for reloading when there are still rounds in your magazine, instead taking ammo from your inventory and adding it to whatever’s already in your weapon.
