Remnant From the Ashes is a co-op shooter in which you battle nightmarish beasties. The starting weapons aren’t great, so you are going to need something louder. Here is how to get the Assault Rifle in Remnant From the Ashes.
As Remnant is procedurally generated, the Assault Rifle appears in a certain dungeon, but there are no guarantees that the dungeon will always be in the same place.
It may take a little exploring, but it is bound to be somewhere nearby. Just follow the steps below, and you will be in the right location before you know it.
How to Find the Assault Rifle in Remnant From the Ashes
First things first: in order to find the dungeon in which the Assault Rifle is to be found, you need to progress in the story up until the point where you rescue the Root Mother.
In the area after the Church, the dungeon will spawn. Look out for a large glowing golden entrance, it’s pretty hard to miss. The one you want will have a large ramp leading down into what appears to be a cave.
Once inside, deal with the enemies you encounter, and be on the lookout for side passages. In one of them, you will find the Monkey Key, grab it and continue fighting your way forwards.
Eventually, you will make your way to another checkpoint. Beyond it, in a nondescript room, you will find a door with a painting of a Green Monkey. Open it with Green Monkey key, and you will find the Assault Rifle inside.
So, to recap,
- Free the Root Mother, and proceed past the Church
Make your way into the wide-open area after the Church. It is part of the critical path, and you will have to pass through this area eventually.
- Find the correct dungeon
It will spawn somewhere in this area. You will know it is the right one as there is a large ramp leading down into the entrance.
- Find the Green Monkey key
It will be located in a side room in the first half of the dungeon. Once you have it, use it to unlock the Green Monkey door after the dungeons second checkpoint. You will find the Assault Rifle inside.
