How to Unlock Daemon Lore in Oninaki

First and foremost, you’ll need to unlock the the Daemon Lore node in a Daemon’s skill tree.

This is done by opening up the main menu, cycling over to the Daemon tab and then selecting the Daemon you’d like to examine. Once you’ve selected a Daemon, cycle down to the Skill Tree option and press the X button to open the tree.

From there, you’ll be taken to the Daemon’s skill tree. While the majority of the nodes in the tree correspond to skills, stats and passive abilities, a select few will unlock Daemon memories when opened. They can be unlocked with a specific amount and type of soul stones, which are gained by defeating enemies.

Once you’ve obtained the necessary soul stones, you can use them to unlock the memory for viewing.

To summarize,

  1. Unlock one of the Daemon Lore nodes in your Daemon’s Skill Tree.

This will allow you to view Daemon Lore at save points.

  2. Go to a Save Point and Open Up the Save Menu

This is the only place where you can view Daemon Lore.

  3. Select the Daemon Lore tab and view the lore you want to view.

This can be done as many times as you’d like, and doing so unlocks a new section of your Daemon’s skill tree.

How to View Daemon Lore in Oninaki

Accessed as you unlock more of a Daemon’s skill tree, Daemon Lore reveals more about who the Daemon was before they died and how their past played into the abilities they manifested in the afterlife.

Not only that, but each bit of Daemon Lore unlocked increases the bond between the player and the Daemon, increasing their stats and the effectiveness of their abilities.

Unfortunately, viewing the lore once it’s unlocked isn’t as clearly laid out as it could be, so we’ve laid out the process step by step for you down below.

Where You Can View Daemon Lore

Once the memory is unlocked, you’ll need to go to a save point to view it. These are the large pillars scattered throughout Oninaki’s world which emit a healing sphere around you when you’ve drawn close enough to them.

Go to a save point, and then press the X button to open the Save Menu. Cycle to the right once, select the Daemon Lore option, and then press down on the D-Pad to cycle through the Daemon Lore you can currently view. You’ll then be shown a cutscene explaining the Daemon’s past, and what led them to become what they are now.

Why You Should View Daemon Lore in Oninaki

Now some lore is all well and good, but you might be wondering if there’s any other point to all the trouble you’ve gone through.

Fortunately, there is.

After viewing a Daemon’s lore, you’ll gain access to a new section of their skill tree. This section can contain new ability and stat buffs, as well as new skills that are much stronger than anything available to you before the Lore was unlocked.

To that end, you should aim to unlock as much of a Daemon’s lore as possible, especially if you foresee yourself using them into the later stages of the game.

That cover everything there is to know about how to view and unlock Daemon Lore in Oninaki.
