How to Build Ballista in Mordhau

You may have come across ballista scattered across frontline and battle royale maps. These static cross-bow structures are the equivalent to a medieval machine-gun. Well, they don’t repeat quite as fast, but they’re the same idea –it’s a defensive ranged weapon that can eliminate opposing forces quickly.

Essentially, they launch a large bolt across a great distance. Any enemy struck will be killed instantly, but they do require plenty of accuracies to use. Unlike catapults, there’s no area of effect damage that knocks enemies down. Instead, you’ll have to hit an enemy dead on, and for that reason ballistas are best used for sniping enemies off walls, chokepoints, and taking down horses.

You don’t just have to rely on stumbling upon one by chance, though. Ballistas can be built if you have the right tools.

Specifically, to build a ballista you will need to equip the toolbox in your loadout before entering a match. This will allow you to build defensive structures, which include barricades, spikes, and Ballistas.

To make the building process faster and more efficient, we recommend also equipping a blacksmith’s hammer, as well as equipping the Smith perk.

That should be everything you need to know about how to build a ballista in Mordhau. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to search Twinfinite.
