How to Get Electronic Components & What They’re Used For in The Division 2

With the release of Ubisoft’s The Division 2, players assume the role of an Agent once more as they attempt to save Washington D.C. from rival factions once again. In order to do so, and truly make your Agent your own in the end game, you’re going to need plenty of crafting materials such as electronics. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get them and what they’re used for.

What They Are Used For

First things first, let’s run through exactly what these are used for in The Division 2. Essentially, these are a high-level crafting material that’s used for making some of the best gear components in the game. When you’ve got the required amount, you’ll be able to use electronics at the Crafting Station to make any of the weapons or gear that you have blueprints and any other required materials needed to craft them.

How to Get Electronics in The Division 2

From our own experience playing through the game, we’ve found there are a few different ways you can get these handy crafting components. We’ve broken these out down below for your own convenience.

High-Level Hyena Enemy Drops

The first and easiest way to get electronics is to simply take down any high-level enemies in the Hyena faction. As the in-game description for this crafting material points out “Intelligence suggests that the Hyenas gather these components as they held a high value before the collapse.” As such, whenever you spot any Hyena enemies, take them down, especially if you see any with a purple or yellow/ gold health bar.

Control Point Rewards

Control Points are a fun little side activity in The Division 2 that also come packed with some pretty great rewards. Upon successfully taking over a Control Point, make sure you’re always going to its Supply Room, which is marked on your screen with a little marker. By heading here, you have a chance of getting electronics as a reward for clearing out the enemies from this Control Point.

It’s worth noting, however, that because electronics are a rare crafting material, there’s certainly no guarantee you’re going to get any from every single one of these points that you clear. However, if you’re in dire need, they’re well worth clearing just on the off chance. Especially those in higher-leveled areas of Washington.

Littered Around the World

Finally, if you’re having no luck getting electronics in either of the other two ways, we have had some luck in searching the various bags and containers scattered around the open world of Washington. Whenever you see something you can interact with and search, do so.

While your chances are low of getting electronics this way, you’ll never know unless you check. And even if you don’t, you’ll get other crafting materials or other items that are sure to come in handy on your mission to reach the max gear score.
