Best Weapons in Days Gone

MWS

Your starting weapons in Days Gone are pretty terrible, but as soon as you get to Tucker’s camp in the Hot Springs, you’ll be able to get your hands on some upgrades.

The MWS is one of the best weapons to get during the early game period, as it’s a very stable and reliable assault rifle that has decent range as well. This thing will help you gun down most regular enemies, and is also decent enough against sniper users, as long as you have Focused Shot.

Boozer’s Shotgun

Shotguns in Days Gone aren’t really all that useful unless you’re planning on hunting a lot of Freakers. If you’ve really got to have one, though, it might be worth waiting till you’re in the mid-game phase, where you can get Boozer’s Shotgun for free.

It’s got insane damage, but you’ll need to be careful with its slow rate of fire. With five rounds in the chamber, you should be able to deal with Freaker groups pretty effectively.

Chicago Chopper

Once you get to the southern part of the world map, you can start ditching your MWS for the Chicago Chopper.

This is a much more powerful and punchy submachine gun with incredible range and accuracy. It doesn’t pack a lot of stopping power, but once you purchase this, you won’t have to worry about swapping out your primary weapons for the rest of the game.

Eliminator

If you’re a fan of handguns and pistols in Days Gone, the Eliminator is probably the best sidearm you can get in the militia camp.

The recoil is pretty brutal, but it’s got great stopping power, and is handy against both Freakers and human enemies.

RPD

Also obtained from the militia camp vendors, the RPD is probably the best machine gun you can get in Days Gone.

Its large clip and insane rate of fire make it a great weapon to use against bosses, and it’s also pretty handy against Hordes. It’s impossible to take down a Horde with just a gun, of course, but it allows you to pick off stragglers very quickly and effectively.
