Today Square Enix released its newest survival shooter game Left Alive, and to celebrate they also dropped a launch trailer.
The video focuses mostly on the game’s story and on its three protagonists, but it also shows quite a bit of gameplay, including some at the controls of the mighty Wanzers.
If he Wanzer name is familiar for you, it’s because the game is set in the universe of the Front Mission strategy JRPG series.
Another interesting aspect of Left Alive is certainly the character design by Metal Gear Solid artist Yoji Shinkawa, which gives the game a rather unmistakable look and feel that will prove familiar to Metal Gear Solid fans.
Toshifumi Nabeshima (who many know for his work on the Armored Core series) worked on it as director, Takayuki Yanase (Xenoblade Chronicles X, Metal Gear Solid 4, Gundam 00) took care of the mecha design.
You can watch the trailer below. If you want to read more about Left Alive, you can read our recent interview dedicated to the game. Funnily, we also saw another launch trailer (for the Japanese release), and a hilarious comedic promotional video on top of a gameplay video explaining how the game works.
You can also enjoy more recent gameplay including some featuring Wanzers in action, another group of clips, the latest TV commercial, a video focusing on the soundtrack, and the unboxing of the collector’s edition.
Left Alive launched a few days ago (Feb. 28, 2019) in Japan for PS4. It’s now available worldwide for PS4 and PC.
