British publisher PQube announced today that Compile Heart’s cutesy shooter/platformer Gun Gun Pixies will be released in North America and Europe.
The peculiar part of the announcement is that it won’t come at all for its original platform, the PS Vita (for which it was released in Japan in 2017). It will instead launch only on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The Switch release will be both physical and digital.
If you know nothing about the game, which wouldn’t be too surprising, here’s an official description.
“The crazy Japanese third-person shooter and 3D platformer in one sends two tiny girls from outer space to earth, so that they can infiltrate a women’s college dormitory. Once arrived, the Pixies stealthily bustle about the regular sized girls’ towering legs and rooms to fulfill their mission: study human behavior in order to help overcome the social issues of their beloved home planet!
Gun Gun Pixies is an exhilarating mix between a third person shooter and 3D platformer where stealth is key! Sneak around the dorm and climb furniture to search for non-combat story objectives or get good venture points for sniper shots to pacify the girls. Collecting large coins hidden around the levels and completing missions lets you unlock new weapons, lingerie, gadgets, and costumes. This and more awaits you in the craziest missions you will embark on this year!”
Gun Gun Pixies will launch “later this year” and will even have a Day One Edition for Switch with a collector’s box and an artbook.
