Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures have released a new trailer for the upcoming live-action film, Detective Pikachu.
The trailer gives us a look at some other Pokemon that we haven’t seen yet, such as a bartending Ludicolo, a terrifying Aipom, and the legendary Pokemon himself, Mewtwo, popping out of a blown up, what from looks like, some type of Pikachu Macy’s Day Parade balloon.
For those unfamiliar with the premise of Detective Pikachu, it stars a boy named Tim Goodman who is on an investigation to uncover the secrets related to the disappearance of his father, Harry Goodman.
Detective Pikachu, who was the former partner of Harry, runs into Tim and the two of them team up to solve the mystery of the missing father, and some other Pokemon-related incidents along the way.
Detective Pikachu is set to debut in theaters on May 10 – Mother’s Day Weekend. You can watch the latest trailer down below, that shows off Lickitung in live-action for the first time, and yes, it is creepy, especially its tongue.
And also, just yesterday, Ryan Reynolds (the voice of Detective Pikachu) put up a hilarious behind the scenes video on his acting methods that helped him become the character of Pikachu, with his wise-cracking jokes and all.
