Here’s When Geralt Is Coming to Monster Hunter World
This past December, Capcom announced that Geralt from The Witcher series would be coming to Monster Hunter World. Here’s what the release date for Geralt in Monster Hunter World is.
The game released near the start of 2018 and since then, has only continued to grow. It’s no wonder that during a livestream last year in December, Capcom announced not only a new expansion set for release later this year, but yet another crossover character.
Surprisingly, this character was Geralt from CD Projekt Red’s Witcher series, a series Capcom really has no connection with it. Regardless, it’s an exciting time for fans of The Witcher series and Monster Hunter World.
That’s because players won’t just be nabbing some Geralt armor similar to the Aloy crossover that happened last year. This time around, they’ll actually get to slay monsters from both of these games as the White Wolf himself.
Furthermore, the game will fuse the play style of Monster Hunter World with the RPG mechanics of The Witcher to (hopefully) create a wonderful balance of Witcher monster hunting Monster Hunter style.
Exciting stuff, right? So, when will players be able to get behind the swords of Geralt?
Well, according to the livestream, which you can view below, the Geralt crossover will launch “early 2019.”
That’s a broad release window, though. Considering the one year anniversary is right around the corner, or potentially already in the past when you’re reading this, it’s unlikely Geralt is a one-year anniversary DLC surprise.
It’s tough to imagine Capcom confidently saying “early 2019” with a release date past the year’s first quarter (which ends in April). So, it’s likely that this DLC will be coming sometime in either February, March or April.
Again, though, April seems to be pushing it and in a way, so does March, so our best bet is February.
February, though, is a busy month with large releases like Crackdown 3, Metro Exodus and Anthem. All of this is speculation at this point, but it’d be a safe bet to bet that you’ll be playing as Geralt in Monster Hunter World before April this year.
