Onimusha: Warlords Gets New Screenshots Showing Puzzle Gameplay

Today Capcom released a new gallery of screenshots of the upcoming Onimusha: Warlords HD Remaster.

The screenshots showcase some of the puzzle gameplay elements that will be included in the game, which will basically be a version of the original sporting increased resolution and very few bells and whistles.

In particular, we get to see familiar elements which still haunt the memories of many gamers, including the infamous water puzzle.

If you’re not familiar with Onimusha: Warlords, it was originally released for PS2 in 2001, with an Xbox release in tow in 2002. Fans have been basically begging Capcom for years to bring the franchise back, and at long last, we’re getting a cookie. Many would probably prefer a full-fledged remake more akin to Resident Evil 2, but this is certainly much better than nothing.

You can enjoy the screenshots in the gallery below. If you want to see more, you can also watch the original announcement trailer which surprised us all in August.

Japanese gamers will get the game a month earlier than the western ones, on December 20th, but only for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The western release has been announced for January 15th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
