New Overwatch Short Melts Hearts With Mei’s Tragic Story

A chilling tale.

During the Overwatch portion of Blizzard’s Gamescom live show, a new Overwatch Short was debuted, this time focusing on the frosty Mei.

As is the case for all shorts released for the game, it tugged on the heart strings quite a lot. The story of how Mei came to be part of the current Overwatch team was told in full, from her humble beginnings as a researcher in the artic, to the tragic death of her coworkers. It even shed more light on her robot companion, Snowball.

The short films released by Blizzard to flesh out the game’s story continue to serve as a great way to learn more about the title’s fascinating world and give the characters more depth than a multiplayer match can. We got another small short earlier this week which looked at Junkrat and Roadhog, revealing their home and a new map: Junkertown.

There is currently no release date for the new map, but it will likely be added to the game soon.

Overwatch is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
