For those looking to explore the cold and hostile world of Dark Souls III’s Ariandel, you will be rewarded with numerous goodies. One of which is the powerful magic buff called Frozen Weapon, which will imbue your weapon of choice with ice. This can help cause Frostbite on opponents, which can be quite deadly when against a faster foe.
However, to locate this item you will need to fight through some serious enemies. From the first Ashes of Ariandel bonfire, head right into the storm until the ground collapses underneath you. Once you land in the forest, you can either engage the pack of wolves or try to sneak by them if you are low on Flasks.
To your right will be a big hill full of monstrous trees that will spew fireballs at you. They are fairly weak, so make sure to just time your dodges so their projectiles don’t stun-lock you. There will be a frost tree at the top of the hill to your right that is guarding a Large Titanite Shard. For these trees use Firebomb, otherwise they can grab you and instantly kill you with their magic. The Firebomb will stun this enemy and give you enough time to cleave its health down to zero.
Fight your way down the other side of the hill until you can go right into an area covered in blood. To avoid getting snatched up by the various trees that lay along the path, always make sure to check them by using your lock on. Once you’re at the very bottom of the hill, go right and kill one last tree. Slay the nasty-looking insects and the Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel spell Frozen Weapon will be all yours.
